Sunset on our last night

Monday 2nd July - Thursday 5th July

For our final night on Katherine we opted for an anchorage just south of the Haderslev Fjord. As we left Marstal we could not believe we were once again punching into waves and having greenies over the deck - so much for the washed overalls. But as we came into our anchorage in the bay off Hejsager Skov we could not have asked for calmer conditions and a more beautiful sunset complete with porpoise swimming by. A fitting last nights location for what has been an incredible trip that has seen us visit so many special places, meet some wonderful people and have so many laughs.

The reality that the journey was really coming to end dawned when we took down the headsail and stowed it below.

Thursday morning saw us motor into the Fjord - on what is the warmest and sunniest day we have ever experienced in Haderslev - so summer must have finally arrived and it had only taken us almost 2500nms to find it.

So Katherine is now cleaned and secured at the factory having some minor adjustments before our return in mid September for what we will be the start of our next journey….
