2022 - Back to cruising
Well it took a while. Covid really did set the challenge to sailing but then life also got in the way. But on August 15 we finally had all our ducks in a row and were heading for Katherine in Olympic Marine Lavrio where Andrew had left her the previous September under the care of X-Yachting Greece.
It was hard to believe that it had been nearly 2 1/2years since Lee had been onboard.
After a frantic few days of "organised chaos" onboard we headed out on Sunday 21st of August the very short distance to Sounion Bay where at night Poseidon Temple stands proudly under lights.
Between temple ruins, friendly helpful people and amazing tasting tomatoes feeling very happy to be in Greece back onboard Sv Katherine.
This blog was put together as we prepare for the start of our 2023 season. It is a short capture of what we posted on Facebook just to share those islands we visited during our 2022 season. Rebuilding a website was never the intention but Lees Mcintosh and website software had other ideas.
Monday 22nd August
While secure on anchor we headed up the road to visit Poseidon Temple finding the shortcut on the way home. In the afternoon we were joined by Paul and Nicole from Savvy of London a reunion long overdue.
In the slightly cooler temperature of the afternoon we took a precarious taxi ride up to the Chora - old town of Kea. Wandering the streets we were soon lost but definitely feeling like we had landed in the film script of Mamma Mia. Dinner was at a restaurant under the trees in the town square. Certainly a memorable start to island hopping in the Cyclades.
